Combined Ticket Rostock-Gedser & Øresund Bridge

Driving from northern Germany to Sweden, the last stretch leaves you a choice: the detour through Jutland, or the direct line through Denmark. The direct option crosses the Baltic to Gedser, continues over Zealand to Copenhagen and finally takes the Øresund Bridge to Malmö. How the journey runs

From Rostock the crossing takes around two hours. In Gedser you drive straight off the ship onto the E55 and reach Copenhagen via Falster and Zealand in about two hours. From there it is another 30 minutes or so across the Øresund Bridge to Malmö. All in all, roughly four and a half to five hours of driving time lie between the Rostock terminal and the Swedish mainland, breaks not included.

You do not stop at a toll booth on the bridge: the barrier reads your number plate, and the crossing is already paid for with the combined ticket.

Who the combined ticket suits

The bundle mainly saves effort - one booking instead of two, and no separate toll purchase in local currency. On price it pays off if you are taking the bridge anyway; if your return runs on a different route, booking the legs separately stays more flexible.

Alternative: combining with Helsingør-Helsingborg

Instead of the bridge you can reach Sweden on the short Helsingør-Helsingborg crossing. That combination is available as a single ticket too. It runs further north across Zealand and is worth a look if your destination lies north of Malmö.
