Fares and prices of the Scandlines Rostock-Gedser ferry

Scandlines sells the crossing per vehicle: the driver and everyone travelling with them are included in the car ticket. What you pay therefore depends less on the number of passengers than on the ticket type and on how early you book. Prices move with season and occupancy; you see the exact amount at the booking step.

Prices at a glance

Which fare suits whom

  • Low Price is the cheapest car fare and online only. It is valid for the booked departure alone, cannot be rebooked and is not refundable. Right when your travel day is fixed.
  • Standard covers every departure on your travel day, so a missed sailing simply means taking the next one. Moving to a different day goes through customer service and costs €30 plus any price difference.
  • Flex stays valid until three months after the travel date, with free rebooking and refund. Worth the surcharge while your return date is still open.
  • Easy Return pairs a fixed outbound crossing with an open return.
  • Day ticket is built for the excursion: out and back on the same day.

Whichever fare you pick, you have a 24-hour right of withdrawal after booking. Unused tickets can be cancelled through "My booking" at Scandlines.

Motorcycle, bicycle and on foot

The motorcycle ticket covers up to three people as long as the combination stays under 2.5 metres. Travelling without a vehicle, you take the foot passenger day ticket; bringing a bike costs a small surcharge on top of the passenger ticket.

Combined tickets for onward travel

Heading on to Sweden, Scandlines bundles the ferry and the bridge toll into one ticket. The combination with the Helsingør-Helsingborg crossing is bookable too.

Rostock-Gedser + Øresund Bridge, Standard from €153.50
Rostock-Gedser + Øresund Bridge, Flex from €255
Rostock-Gedser + Øresund Bridge, motorcycle from €77
Rostock-Gedser + Helsingør-Helsingborg, Standard from €149.75
Rostock-Gedser + Helsingør-Helsingborg, motorcycle from €74

More on the route across the bridge is on the Combined Ticket with the Øresund Bridge page.

FAQ

Common questions about prices

Which ticket types are there?+

For a single car crossing there are Low Price (online only, tied to one departure), Standard (flexible on the travel day) and Flex (fully flexible with free rebooking). On top of that come day and return tickets as well as motorcycle and foot-passenger fares.

Is it worth booking online?+

Yes. The Low Price fare is online only and costs well under half the port price. Booking early improves your chances of the lowest fare.

Are there combined tickets for onward travel to Sweden?+

Yes. Scandlines sells combinations of the ferry with the Øresund Bridge and with the Helsingør-Helsingborg crossing. How that route works is on the Combined Ticket with the Øresund Bridge page.

Does my ticket cover the return crossing?+

Only day and return tickets do. Single crossings are booked per direction; what matters on the way back from Gedser is on the Gedser-Rostock Ferry page.
