Rostock-Gedser timetable
Pick your date to see the departures in both directions, with arrival time, duration and which ship is sailing. The times for your date are loaded live from the route's current timetable. In storms or ice, or if a ship is out of service, Scandlines may move or cancel individual departures, so check your crossing with the operator again on the day you travel.
Timetable for the direct route to Denmark
The timetable above shows the direct connection between Rostock and Gedser. Scandlines runs up to 10 departures a day in each direction, and the crossing takes around two hours. You will find everything else about the route on the Rostock-Gedser ferry page.
What sets this route apart from the Fehmarn Belt route is not the time on board but the drive to the port: from Berlin, Saxony and eastern Germany, Rostock is much the shorter way, and Gedser puts you straight onto Falster, on the road to Copenhagen.
First and last ferry, today's departures
The timetable opens on today's date. Departures are listed in order from the first to the last ferry of the day; anything that has already left today is greyed out, and the next departure is highlighted. For a different day, choose the date above; the Today button takes you back.
For the opposite direction, switch to Return. The two lists of departures are not mirror images; each direction has its own times.
Delays, cancellations and storms
The times shown are planned departure times. In storms, ice or unusually high or low water levels, or if a port or a ship is out of action, Scandlines may move or cancel departures, and bad weather can make the crossing take longer. If your crossing is delayed or cancelled, EU passenger rights for sea travel set out what you are entitled to.
On the day: is my ferry sailing?
On the day you travel, check directly with Scandlines whether your departure is sailing as planned. With a Standard or Flex ticket, you can take another departure on the same day at no extra cost; what applies to each fare is on the Prices & Fares page. For questions about your booking, contact customer service.
